Check out this great STEM Student story!

Kiera Wilmot, a Florida honors student was arrested after her science experiment was deemed a "chemical explosion" by authorities.  Now officially cleared of all wrongdoing, her academic life has taken a surprising turn.

Kiera is going to Space Camp!  And the man helping to pay her way is NASA veteran, Homer Hickman, who was also once arrested as a teen.  "I couldn't let this go without doing something," Hickam said. "I'm not a lawyer, but I could give her something that would encourage her. "

He also helped raise funds so Kiera's twin sister, Kayla, could attend the Camp, too.

Kiera, her mother Marie, and her sister Kayla
